Classic HipHop Rips/Edits

I've been ripping soooo much vinyl lately, and while im recording if anything needs some editing I do it right there and get it over with. So i guess you can expect to see alot of little edits poppin up on here in the next while. For this one i took two of my favorite jams of the past that were both a little hard to mix in, and made easy little intro's for them. Definitely two classic joints here!

Fu-Schnickens - Ring The Alarm (Illo 8)

Naughty By Nature - Hip Hop Hooray (Sunship Groove Rmx) (Illo 8)

DL Incognito - A Captured Moment In Time

Well yesterday saw the release of a new LP from one of our favorite rappers wordwide - DL Incognito. Currently based out of Toronto Can, this is another release in a strong series of Lps from one of Canadas most revered mic rippers. DL saw early success with "A Sample & A Drum Machine", and since has continued to release consistent material. The new LP sees the most comfortable side of DL & techtwelve that we've seen yet. The music seems effortless, while at the same time making a statement. Incredible.

This LP also features 3 joints from The Stylusts own Tom Wrecks!! Another solid offering from Tomye East! The whole production lineup on the album is handled in house, except for one banger from Killakovsky (spelling?) which features Theology 3. So how can you go wrong! Big shouts to Tech & DL too.

BONUS - Here's one of the songs produced by Tom Wrecks "Rap Soul". That'll make you wanna go cop that shit!

DMC World Finals 2005

I recently found footage of my 2005 Dmc World Finals set on youtube, and i must say, its pretty much a disaster! I was so embarassed by my set that i actually refused to watch the dvd. Well, after almost 3 years, i watch it for the first time and realise that it wasnt as bad as i envisioned. There are definately an extreme amount of errors, but i was very proud of my jay-z routine that came off pretty clean. It's one of the most complicated beat juggles i've ever come up with and i doubt i'd be able to pull it off again. So here she been in all her glory! Chuuch!

Hova Hova Hova!

Big Big Big congrats go out to our good homie Neil Armstrong who is about to set off on the tour of a lifetime! Neil be handling the one's and two's for none other than the legend, Jay-Z! The Heart Of The City Tour with Jay-Z and Mary J Blige is about to kick off and were all extatic for Neil and his big news! If you don't know Neil (where have you been????), be sure to check for him at The 5th Platoon and cop his incredible, now classic, mixtapes! You know musically this tour is going to be a schorcher when you have Questlove (who was here on Monday and ripped the cut at the Roots afterparty alongside our man Illo) and our homie A-Trak behind the programming. If you have a chance to catch this tour, do not sleep!
